About the field
Diagnostics is the step that comes before everything else. Without an X-ray, it is impossible to assess the bone beneath the gum, the condition of the roots or the position of a wisdom tooth in relation to the nerve.
We use low-dose digital imaging, and three-dimensional imaging where the spatial position matters — above all before implant placement and surgical procedures.
The findings alone are not enough, however. Every examination comes with an explanation: what can be seen on the image, what it means and what the options are.
We only take X-rays where the result will change the approach. An unnecessary X-ray adds nothing but radiation dose.
What we use for examination
Three tools that complement each other. Which one we use depends on the question we need to answer.

Digital X-ray
A targeted X-ray of one or several teeth. It shows decay between the teeth, the condition of the root and the area around a filling.

Panoramic X-ray
All the teeth and both jaws on a single image. It gives an overview and catches what lies outside the area being treated.

Three-dimensional CT
Where the spatial position matters: before implant placement, with impacted teeth and before surgical procedures.
Every X-ray comes with an interpretation. Findings without an explanation do not help the patient.
How we work
Clinical examination
A check of the teeth, gums, oral mucosa and bite.
Imaging
A targeted or panoramic X-ray as needed, and 3D imaging in more complex cases.
Analysis and plan
We discuss the findings with you and draw up a treatment plan, including the order of steps and a cost estimate.
What we treat in this field
Initial examination
Establishing the findings for a new patient and drawing up a plan. It is covered by Czech public health insurance.
Overview of all your teeth
A panoramic X-ray that also shows what lies outside the area being treated.
Before implants and surgery
Three-dimensional imaging: the amount of bone and the position of the nerve and the maxillary sinus.
Checking healing
Monitoring the condition after a procedure and comparing it with the previous state.

Frequently asked questions
Are X-rays safe?
The dose from a digital dental X-ray is very low. We only take X-rays where the result will make a difference.
Can I bring X-rays from elsewhere?
Yes, if they are no more than about a year old and of usable quality. This saves time and further imaging.
Why do I need a 3D scan?
With implants and impacted teeth, the spatial position is decisive — in relation to the nerve and the maxillary sinus. A two-dimensional X-ray does not provide this information.
Can I take my X-rays with me?
Yes. The images are part of your medical records and we will give them to you on request.
How long does the examination take?
The imaging itself takes a few minutes. Analysing the findings and drawing up the plan usually takes longer — and that is the essential part of the visit.
