We provide dental treatment and prevention for children of all ages.
A child’s first visit to the dentist should not be put off and should take place by the age of one.
The dentist will advise parents on how to care for their child’s teeth properly from the moment the first one appears, which toothpaste and toothbrush to choose, what to avoid, what food to give the child, and so on. Parents sometimes feel that baby teeth do not need as much care as permanent teeth, but the opposite is true. It is important to teach children to look after their baby teeth properly so that they will then look after their permanent teeth properly too. Besides, decayed baby teeth can also be painful.
The first visits are mainly intended to let the child get to know the surgery and the dentist, so that the child is not afraid, can look at everything and build a friendly relationship with their dentist. A dental check-up does not have to take place.
In our children’s dentistry, we offer a kind and patient approach, because children cope with stress differently from adults. To diagnose and monitor the development of the teeth and the position of the jaws, we use panoramic X-rays and DiagnoCam, which are highly effective methods with minimal burden on the child.
When treating a child, we proceed as gently as possible.
We can carry out fissure sealing, make restorations such as children’s crowns, treat tooth decay, and so on.
At our dental centre, we care not only about the health of children’s teeth but also about their emotional wellbeing.
The child’s emotional wellbeing
Children are very sensitive, and a visit to the dentist can be very stressful for them. This needs to be taken into account.
At our dental centre, we provide care not only for adults but also for children, for whom even a visit to the dentist, let alone dental treatment, can be very stressful. We are aware that children need a very sensitive, kind and patient approach. We minimise stress by building a rapport with the child, communicating in “their” language and providing a pleasant environment.
We also recommend more frequent visits, starting even before the child’s first birthday. The child gets used to the idea that a visit to the dentist is nothing dangerous and that nobody wants to hurt them but, on the contrary, to help. If even this is not enough, the child can be given an inhalation analgesic before a procedure, so no injection is needed; it relieves not only pain but also anxiety and fear. The child remembers nothing or very little of the procedure.
A child who is not afraid of the dentist grows into an adult who will not have problems visiting the dentist either.
