The Icon® method treats decay in the enamel without drilling or any other intervention on the tooth. It works on the principle of infiltrating the tooth enamel with a resin, which strengthens it and makes it more resistant to harmful influences. During the procedure, the enamel surface is first gently etched and dried, then a liquid resin is applied that penetrates the enamel and is hardened with light. The treated area becomes more resistant and white spots blend in with the rest of the tooth.
