Placing a tooth dislodged by injury back into its socket, where it reattaches.
Tooth replantation means that a knocked-out permanent tooth is put back in its place, i.e. into its original socket.
During some sports activities or accidents, a tooth can be knocked out.
However, this does not mean you have to lose it for good. It is a good idea to try to find the tooth. Always hold the tooth by the crown, never by the root, and do not wipe or disinfect it; at most, rinse it with water to remove dirt. The tooth must not dry out, so it is best to keep it, for example, in your own saliva (an ideal environment for the tooth). If possible, put the tooth back in its original place, and in either case see a dentist as quickly as possible.
The specialists at our dental care centre will position the tooth correctly and splint it to the neighbouring teeth so that it can reattach.
The sooner you get to us, the greater the chance that the tooth will “take” again and that within a few weeks your teeth will be complete, as if nothing had happened.
