Preventive dental check-up

About the field

Prevention is the least expensive dentistry: decay caught as a spot on the enamel is treated with fluoride; the same decay two years later needs a crown or root canal treatment.

Czech public health insurance covers a preventive check-up twice a year. Most of our patients combine it with a dental hygiene appointment.

A check-up is not just a look inside the mouth. It includes checking the oral mucosa, the gums and the bite — this is often where we find what patients do not notice themselves.

You leave the check-up with clear findings: what is fine, what needs treatment and in what order. Including a cost estimate.

What prevention offers

Less expensive treatment

The difference between a fluoride treatment and a crown is an order of magnitude. The only thing that decides it is when the decay was found.

Less time in the chair

A small problem means one short visit. A neglected one means a whole series of visits.

Detection before pain

Both decay and periodontitis start without symptoms. By the time it hurts, treatment is usually more extensive.

Checking the oral mucosa

Sores that do not heal, white or red patches. It pays to catch them early.

Longer-lasting treatment

Fillings, crowns and implants last longer when their condition and the surrounding tissue are checked.

A plan, not a surprise

You know in advance what to expect and when. This also helps you plan the costs.

How we work

Check-up

A check of all teeth, fillings, gums and oral mucosa. Supplemented with an X-ray if needed.

Fluoride treatment or sealing

Where the enamel is weakened or there are deep fissures, we add protection.

A plan for the coming period

We agree on what needs treatment and when to come back.

What we treat in this field

Regular check-ups

A dental check-up twice a year — the scope covered by health insurance.

Early stages of decay

A white spot on the enamel without a cavity. At this stage it can be stopped by remineralisation, without drilling.

Fissure sealing

Protection of the deep fissures on the permanent molars of children and adolescents. This is exactly where decay most often develops.

Home care

Adjusting your cleaning routine and diet according to the findings — not general advice.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I have a check-up?

Twice a year. That is also the scope covered by health insurance.

Nothing hurts. Is a check-up worth it?

That is exactly why. Both decay and periodontitis start without pain — by the time it hurts, treatment is usually more extensive and more expensive.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. The initial examination is covered by health insurance.

What does a check-up include?

A check of the teeth and existing fillings, the condition of the gums, the bite and the oral mucosa. Depending on the findings, we add an X-ray.

Does it include cleaning the teeth?

No, that is a separate dental hygiene appointment. Most patients book both on the same day.

Will I know the price in advance?

Yes. After the check-up, you will receive a plan with the order of steps and a cost estimate. Prices of the most common treatments are also listed in our price list.
