About the field
Dental laboratory work is the part of the process that patients do not see. Yet the result depends on it: a crown or restoration is made in the laboratory from an impression or scan taken in the surgery.
The quality of the laboratory work matters just as much as the work in the surgery. An inaccurate restoration does not fit the bite, irritates the gum and shortens the lifespan of the entire treatment.
We match the colour and shape to your own teeth. For work on the front teeth, a try-in is also possible at a stage when anything can still be adjusted.
The better the input from the surgery, the better the result from the laboratory. That is why a digital scan makes sense for more demanding work.
What the result depends on
Precision of fit
A restoration has to fit to within tenths of a millimetre. Inaccuracy shows up as gum irritation and decay under the margin.
Harmony with the bite
A restoration that does not fit the bite overloads the neighbouring teeth and the jaw joint. Fine-tuning is part of the work.
Colour matched to the surrounding teeth
The shade and translucency are chosen according to your own teeth, not from a catalogue.
Choice of material
Ceramic, zirconia, composite. They differ in appearance, durability and price — and suit different places in the mouth.
Try-in before completion
With more extensive work, you try the restoration in at a stage when anything can still be adjusted.
Repairs and adjustments
Removable dentures can be repaired and relined. Throwing them away and making new ones is not always necessary.
How we work
Input from the surgery
An impression or digital scan, shade selection, photographic documentation.
Fabrication
Laboratory fabrication of the restoration according to the records and the agreed material.
Try-in and delivery
With more extensive work, a try-in before completion, then fitting and a bite check.
What is made in the laboratory
Crowns and bridges
Fixed restorations on natural teeth and on implants.
Removable dentures
Partial and complete, including repairs and relining.
Occlusal splints
Protection of the teeth in bruxism — grinding at night wears down both enamel and restorations.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to make a restoration?
Usually one to three weeks, depending on the type of work. While it is being made, you will receive a temporary solution.
Can I choose the material?
We will discuss the options — they differ in appearance, durability and price. The choice also depends on the location in the mouth.
What if the restoration does not fit?
Come in. Fine-tuning the bite and shape is a normal part of the work, not a complication.
Will I see the restoration before it is fitted?
With more extensive work, yes — the try-in takes place at a stage when both shape and colour can still be adjusted.
Can an old restoration be repaired?
Often, yes. Removable dentures can be repaired and relined; with fixed restorations, it depends on what is damaged.
