Teeth whitening
Removing unwanted teeth and lightening by several shades
Would you like to have brighter teeth and a brilliant smile, but your teeth are yellowed, greyish, wearing unsightly stains? Are you ashamed to smile about it? Tooth whitening may be right for you.
Teeth whitening is a gentle and totally safe method to make your teeth lighten after the first treatment, up to several shades. Its aim is to remove the deposited pigments and restore the tooth to its natural bright appearance.
It is possible to utilize the chemical bleaching process using a hydrogen peroxide-containing gel from which the active oxygen molecules are released to decolorize the deposited pigments. The gel is applied to the teeth and its effect can be increased by irradiation with special light.
The color of the teeth is given in part genetically, but the beverages and food we consume can also be the undesirable color. These include coffee, tea, red wine, but also smoking and antibiotics.
However, this method does not whiten the teeth, so-called internal bleaching is used, whereby a bleaching agent is introduced into the tooth.
Treatment in the office can also be supplemented with home teeth whitening, which we will be happy to advise you.
Before bleaching, teeth and gums must be healthy. It is not recommended to eat acidic foods before the procedure.
